Glocester police, postal inspectors bust drug operation
GLOCESTER – Glocester Police Department and United States Postal Inspectors arrested three men on narcotics related charges Wednesday, Jan. 18, after a seven month investigation by both agencies involving express mail packages originating from California, and shipped to a home at 352 Snake Hill Road , Capt. Joseph Mattera announced.
Investigators received a tip that two packages were being shipped Wednesday, Jan. 17, to the Snake Hill address. Glocester Police Officers and Postal Inspectors arrested Christopher M. Ceceri, 28, who resided at the address.
Officers also arrested two Californian men with previous ties to Rhode Island who arrived to pick up the packages from the 352 Snake Hill Road address. Michael Grigorian, 26, of Los Angeles, and Peter Verte, 28, of Granada Hills California. Both were charged with possession of marijuana in excess of 5 kilograms, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and conspiracy.
Ceceri was also charged with possession of marijuana in excess of 5 kilograms, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of anabolic steroids, all felonies.
Officers seized 15 pounds of high grade marijuana with an estimated street value of over $60,000, $12,700 in U.S. currency, and one vehicle. All three defendants were arraigned 3rd District, West Warwick where bail was set at $75,000 with surety on Grigorian and Verte. Bail was set at $10,000 with surety on Ceceri. .
The Foster Police K-9 unit also assisted in this investigation.
