Hopeful for relief from auto tax change

As a resident of North Providence I was "thrilled" to learn that Rep. William O'Brien has introduced a bill regarding the auto tax snafu. I like many have been "abused" by Mayor Charles Lombardi's use of the this tax on older/used vehicles. Mr. Lombardi's "appeal process" should be known as a "no appeal system." The extremely over-inflated car values have fed our surpluses since inception.

Of course our mayor has been quick to claim deficits have been solved by his management and his "bold" decisions. And he has been clear to point out, "the state puts values on all vehicles." It's not his fault.

I thank Rep. O'Brien for his courage to submit this bill.
