Lace up those sneakers: 5K, health fair set for this weekend

CUMBERLAND - Supporting middle school sports, and the town as a whole, residents will come together this weekend for a 5K race and health fair meant to foster community and raise money for athletics.

The Townwide Learning Community and the Cumberland Middle School Sports Booster Club will host the Cumberland Town-wide Learning 5K Road Race on Saturday, March 23, at Joseph L. McCourt Middle School, 45 Highland Ave.

The 5K race, which loops around the neighborhood on mostly England Street and Curran Road, starts at 9 a.m. A mile-long fun run for kids under 10 takes off at 10:15 a.m. Then, everyone will head inside the school for a health fair that runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Race day information, a list of health fair vendors, and the story behind the event can be found in the E-paper edition.
