UMBERLAND - A second look at this town's complex bus routes suggests an earlier start time would be needed for students in both middle schools as well as two elementaries to give the teenagers of this town an extra hour of sleep.

But educators locally and in districts across the country are claiming it's well worth it.

Test scores will increase and disciplinary issues will decline almost immediately, suggest the experiences of others who've better accommodated the older kids' sleep needs.

The special school board committee analyzing plans to change the high school start time from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. met for a second time last Thursday.
