Six charged, one wanted in marijuana robberies

WOONSOCKET – Five adults and one juvenile were arrested on Wednesday, March 27 in connection with home invasions in Burrillville and Woonsocket, in which the perpetrators robbed the victims of marijuana.

Four of the adults arrested were from Woonsocket including Kyeme Gallagher, 22, of 20 Bell St.; Charles Welch, 23, of 97 Roberts St.; Cyril Delgado, 19, of 97 Roberts St.; and Randy Santana, 21, of 482 Park Ave. Andrew Perry, 21, of 90 Girard Ave., Newport was also arrested. They were all charged with possession of marijuana, robbery and conspiracy in connection with a robbery that occurred on March 6 at 160 Cherry Farm Road in Burrillville, and a second incident that took place on March 24 at 156 Park Ave. in Woonsocket.

According to a release from the Woonsocket Police Department, officers from Woonsocket and Burrillville were conducting a follow up investigation on the two related home invasions and learned that the juvenile suspect was at 97 – 99 Roberts St. Detectives from both agencies reportedly went to the apartment, and when the door was opened by someone inside, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana and saw what appeared to be a handgun in plain view. After securing the building, detectives transported four adults and one juvenile to the Woonsocket Police Department.

Police have also put out an arrest warrant for Charles Perry, 21 of Pawtucket, as part of the investigation. Perry is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Perry is asked to contact the Woonsocket Police Department at 401-769-4444.

The Attorney General’s Office and ATF assisted in the investigation. Det. Jamie Paone stated that the investigation is continuing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
