Woonsocket man wins $2 million

WOONSOCKET – A city man who bought a Powerball ticket last month at AJ's Mini Mart on Social Street has finally claimed his $2 million prize.

Lonnie Jackson Jr. matched all five numbers, 5,27,36,38, and 41, but missed the Powerball number of 12 in the Feb. 6 drawing. Jackson finally checked his ticket, back at AJ's this week, and was shocked when the clerk said he had won.

He claimed the $2 million jackpot from the Rhode Island lottery on Thursday, March 28.

Jackson said he plans to buy a house, pay off his bills, take care of his family and buy a truck with a plow for clearing snow, according to a report by the Providence Journal.
