Pawtucket is growing more dependent on SNAP benefits

PAWTUCKET - Nearly 20,000 of the city's 71,000 residents, or 28 percent, received a combined $2.75 million from the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in March, a dollar figure dwarfed every other Rhode Island municipality except Providence.
