Assessments begin on repairing, moving Hot Potato School

LINCOLN - The Town Council has passed a resolution to set up a committee to oversee the relocation of the one-room Hot Potato School, but first it must be determined whether the building is sound enough to move at all.

In its current state as "a rectangle with a lot of bows," Town Administrator T. Joseph Almond said the school cannot simply be lifted off its Angell Road foundation and placed on another. Walls, floors and sills are also in disrepair, he said.
