Lincoln Town Council waives all impact fees, eliminates town's sewer appeals board

INCOLN - In an effort to help residential developments in Lincoln, the Town Council has voted to waive all impact fees for the next two years.

Major residential development of four or more lots or condominiums had been the only projects subjected to impact fees since 2011, when the Town Council voted to suspend them for all other development.

Council President Keith Macksoud, who submitted the ordinance amendment, told the Ordinance Committee on Monday night that other than the Residences and Stone Creek on Breakneck Hill Road and two other condo developments, there was "not much land left for major development" in town.

Therefore, the money coming in would not be that substantial, Macksoud said. Without the fees, perhaps the town could get more residents on the tax roll, he said.
