Three arrested for Woonsocket bomb threats

WOONSOCKET – Three students have been arrested in connection with the four bomb threats made at Woonsocket High School over the past two weeks.

According to officers, students have provided information crucial to the arrests of two minors - a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old female - and one adult, 18-year-old Khalil Oliver of 108 First Ave. The three have been charged with making threats to a public building and conspiracy. Police say more arrests are expected in the on-going investigation.

The Cass Avenue school received threats on Tuesday, April 23, Friday, April 26 and again on Tuesday, April 30, and Wednesday, May 1. In three of the incidents, the threats came via notes found inside the building. The final threat on Wednesday came via a phone call, according to police.

Officers commended students for providing information leading to the arrest during assemblies on Thursday.

Anyone with information about the bomb threats made at the school is asked to call Det. Peter Menard or Det. Jamie Paone, or the Woonsocket Police anonymous tip line at 769-4444.
