Providence Rotary Jazz Fest May 19 will feature Grammy winner Steve Tyrell

CRANSTON - Grammy Award winner and Billboard Top Ten singer Steve Tyrell will be the headline performer at the Providence Rotary Club's 2nd annual Jazz Fest, Sunday, May 19, 7 p.m., at the Rhode Island Center for the Performing Arts.

The Providence Rotary Jazz Fest benefits the Providence Rotary Charities Foundation which supports local and international charities involving disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, and economic and community development.

Perhaps best known for "The Way You Look Tonight," Tyrell's romance-launching hits include "The Simple Life," "Crush On You" and "The Sunny Side of The Street."

The event opens with Boss Saxes featuring Dan Moretti and Greg Abate, with Gary Johnson on drums, Tim Ray on piano and Dave Zinno on bass.

A VIP Reception at 6 p.m. will feature light refreshments and preferred seating. VIP admission is $75.
