Robert Poluvatzick - Cumberland

Robert Poluvatzick, 74, of Cumberland passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth (Lind) Poluvatzick and the late Ann Marie (Coleman) Poluvatzick.

He graduated from St. Raphael Academy ’57 and Bryant University ’62. Mr. Poluvatzick was a controller of James Hill Mfg. and later a tax accountant with KPMG. Upon leaving KPMG, he founded Poluvtazick & Co., CPA’s in 1969 with offices in Pawtucket and Woonsocket.

In 1985 he left accounting and founded RLP Enterprises, Inc., a Blockbuster and Major Video franchise with stores throughout New England. He sold in 1996 and retired. He was a member of the American Institute and RI Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He was a former of the board of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, Trinity Rep, and the R.I. Cancer Society, the Blackstone Valley and the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, and the R.I. Public Expenditures Council. He was an incorporator of Eastland Bank and Fogarty Memorial Hospital.

He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Pawtucket, Kirkbrae, and Woonsocket Country clubs. He had been a member of the Tao Kalon and Turks Head Club.

He was the BEST husband, father and grandfather.

Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters, Lee Malone of Harwich, Mass., and Kathleen Ivers and her loving husband James of Hollywood, Fla.; and his son Robert M. Poluvtzick and his loving wife Kimberly of Cumberland. He also is survived by his loving grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph and Lauren Malone, and Alexis and Rowan Poluvatzick. He also leaves his sisters, Janis Benevides of Westerly, R.I., and Nancy Wood of Cumberland.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Monday 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, would be appreciated.
