NORTH SMITHFIELD – A woman is facing charges of operating under the influence after a breathalyzer test administered at the scene of an accident showed results nearly three times the legal limit

Kelly Walsh, 47 of North Smithfield was arrested following a collision on Eddie Dowling Highway last Thursday. According to police, who spoke with the suspect after reporting to a three car crash at the traffic light in front of CVS Pharmacy, Walsh agreed to a preliminary breathalyzer test at the scene, which came back showing a blood alcohol level almost three times more than the limit of .08. Only minor injuries were reported from the accident.

Police said Walsh later refused a chemical test. She is due in court June 18 on charges of operating under the influence of intoxicating substances.
