Pawtucket artist exhibits at Providence Art Club

PROVIDENCE - Pawtucket Artist Joan McConaghy will have her work displayed at the Providence Art Club June 30-July 19.

An opening reception will be held Sunday, June 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the club's Maxwell Mays Gallery, 11 Thomas St.

McConaghy is an artist member of the Providence Art Club, Wickford Art Association and Pawtucket Arts Collaborative. She holds a fine art degree from Rhode Island College, and furthered her study at Boston University, Rhode Island School of Design, Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, and in classes at the Providence Art Club.

In addition to having her work accepted in many juried shows and receiving awards, her work has been chosen and displayed in the Washington, D.C., office of U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, in the executive board room of General Dynamics Electric Boat Division, and in private homes.

All her paintings for this exhibit are from travel experiences to Ireland, Italy and various locations, as well as here in New England. A preview of her work can be seen at www.enfieldgallery.com.

The Providence Art Club gallery hours are Monday-Friday noon-4 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 2-4 p.m.
