R.I. Rhythm and Blues Preservation Society seeks used instruments

The Rhode Island Rhythm and Blues Preservation Society, a Rhode Island state incorporated, tax deductible, nonprofit, all volunteer, membership organization, is seeking new or used donated instruments including guitars, flutes, trumpets, saxophones, trombones, clarinets, child-size keyboards and beginner drums.

The mission of the society is to preserve and promote the rhythm and blues music through events, activities and public education programs.

The instruments will be provided to school-aged children in grades 4 through 12, who have expressed an interest in their school music programs.

The seven-year old program has provided more than 100 musical instruments to schools in the state. The organization sees that the donated instruments are fully restored before they reach the schools.

To donate, contact Sandra Ginsberg, Program Coordinator at 401-454-7410 or Cleveland Kurtz at 401-461-0012. For additional information about the organization, visit www.bluespreservationsociety.org .
