Education Foundation grateful for festival help

The Smithfield Education Foundation would like to thank everyone who came out to support us in the 5th annual Celebrate Smithfield Festival held at the Smithfield Crossings on June 1.

The Festival opened with the National Anthem sung by SHS Senior Emma Dunn, and included performances by the Gallagher Middle School Chorus, the Gallagher Dance Team, Marie K. Jennison Dance Studio Excite! Company III Dancers, Mastery Martial Arts Demo Team, and local bands.

The Foundation would also like to thank Kim LaPierre and the entire staff at Apple Valley Wellness for their support and generosity for hosting the Ladies Spa Night on March 21.

The Smithfield Education Foundation's goal is to raise money to provide grants for programs beyond the regular school budget. This past spring, the Foundation awarded nine teachers in the district a total of $4,513 in grants.

The grants will enhance existing programs as well as provide new initiatives which will assist educators in inspiring, motivating and challenging our students. The Foundation is a 501(C) (3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.
