Late night Wednesday for Cumberland Town Council?

CUMBERLAND – Town Council members are facing one of the busiest agendas in recent memory on Wednesday when they convene for the single meeting of the month.

Before them are a series of major rezoning decisions, as well approval of a Police Pension Plan ordinance, a review of Diamond Hill Road resurfacing project, a review of a new master plan for Diamond Hill Park, a resolution authorizing a collective bargaining agreement with Town Hall employees, a resolution selling Currier Playground for a new charter school, and even a citizen rally for the Sylvie's Brook beavers.

Rezoning requests, that have been all reviewed by the Planning Board this summer, are:

• Plat 51, Lot 11: Allows 200 residential units in Highland Corporate Park.

• Plat 52, Lots 210 and 207: Would bring into zoning compliance and allow expansion of a hair salon at 3595 Mendon Road.

• Plat 50, Lot 13: Allows a farm and garden center on West Wrentham Road.

• Plat 2, Lot 26 - Allows a three-story elementary school on Broad Street.

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, 45 Broad St. It's streamed live on the town's website. Follow the link to Town Council.
