Mancini Center offers health programs

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center announces the following events.

A program on gynecologic cancers will be presented on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Anze Urh will discuss the risks, signs and symptoms and how to improve your overall health.

Seasonal flu shot registration for members will be held Monday-Wednesday, Sept. 9-11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. Telephone reservations will not be accepted.

Beltone New England will present the program, See Your Own Ear, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A tiny magnifying camera will be used to give a guided tour of your ear canal and display what is seen on a large computer monitor. Space is limited. Register with the receptionist.

A blood pressure clinic will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The Coping with Change & Loss group will meet Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m.

The program Nutrition & Arthritis will be presented on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 10:30 a.m. Learn how food can affect symptoms and their severity. Sign up at the Reception Desk.

Diabetic shoes consultations will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A September birthday celebration will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. Celebrate with lunch and live entertainment with Jeff Gamache.

A Fashions by Francine fundraiser will also be held on Sept. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Hearing screenings and consultations will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The screenings and consultations are free. Appointments are not required.

The URI Pharmacy Outreach Program will hold a discussion on tinnitus Thursday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. Learn the causes, symptoms, risk factors and treatments.
