'The Indian Great Awakening' author at Saylesville Meeting House

LINCOLN - Join Brown University professor and author Linford D. Fisher for a free illustrated talk on his book, "The Indian Great Awakening: Religion and the Shaping of Native Cultures in Early America," at the Saylesville Meeting House, 374 Great Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.

Refreshments and a book signing will follow at Historic New England's Arnold House.

The program is part of the Spectacle of Toleration Project of the Newport Historical Society, and is presented in partnership with Historic New England, the Rhode Island Historical Society and Saylesville Friends Meeting.

The program is made possible, in part, with funding from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities.

Limited parking is available at Saylesville Meeting House. Parking is also available at Gateway Park, next to Arnold House, 487 Great Road.
