No Christmas tree tagging this year at Butterfly Farms

LINCOLN - Due to a shortage of Christmas trees at Butterfly Farm, there will be no tree tagging allowed this year, said owner Joyce Smith.

A sign informing passersby was put out in front of the Great Road farm several weeks ago.

"We will have some of my trees that we will have for sale already cut probably beginning right after Thanksgiving," Smith said.

Wreaths will also still be available for sale.

Butterfly Farms has long been known for tree tagging. In 2011, Smith told The Breeze that it had been "an excellent year," tagging more trees than in the past three or four years.
