Philip A. Levesque - Cumberland

Philip A. Levesque, 96, of Cumberland died on Aug. 18 at home after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Anita C. Richer and the father of the late Janice T. Levesque.

He started work in 1936 as a lineman for the Blackstone Valley Electric Company in Woonsocket. He retired in 1973, after 37 years, from National Grid as a dispatcher.

Upon his retirement, he returned to school receiving an Associate degree from Community College of Rhode Island in 1981. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhode Island College in 1983.

He was an avid reader and loved skiing. He enjoyed tennis, golf and bowling.

He is survived by his son, Mark S. Levesque of North Kingstown; and his daughters, Diane M. Hardy of Providence and Susan C. Lanctot of Cumberland. He had 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His family wishes to thank Beacon Hospice of East Providence for their kind, caring attention during his illness. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. James Church in Manville to celebrate his life on Sept. 28 at 10 a.m.
