'A Moment in History' set for Saturday in Glocester

GLOCESTER - The Glocester Heritage Society and the URI Master Gardeners will present "A Moment in History" on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Dr. Rueben Mason House, 1111 Putnam Pike.

At 9 a.m., volunteers will give tours of the garden, along with talks on its design and its significance to the 18th-century house.

At 10 a.m. the Glocester Land Trust, in partnership with the Heritage Society and Master Gardeners, will replace the elm tree that stood in front of the house. Roy Najecki of the Glocester Land Trust will give a talk on the Dutch elm disease that devastated American elms across the country.
