State seeks input in mapping project

SMITHFIELD - Blackstone Corridor is helping the state's Planning Division to organize a series of workshops on mapping within northern Rhode Island, and is seeking participation from residents, students and business people, in addition to town staff and local board members.

In addition to participating in workshops and providing feedback, those who participate in the program will be key reviewers of the mapping products. Mapping is now available online at rhodemap.maps.arcgis.com/home/index.html.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Smithfield Senior Center, with two consecutive workshops to be held at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Based on the map reviews and comments received, the consultant team will compile maps for the region that represent the local priorities of each community. The consultant team will also present information on regional "Green Infrastructure" maps.
