Troop 1 Blackstone earns badges at Camp Yawgoog

BLACKSTONE - Troop 1 Blackstone Boy Scouts spent a week at Camp Yawgoog from July 28 to Aug. 4.

Twenty-one Scouts, four of them first-year Scouts, worked and played hard while staying at campsite Weemat in Medicine Bow.

The Scouts earned 65 merit badges and 115 segments, and six Scouts achieved their next rank.

One member of the troop earned the Silver COPE award at the challenge center. Other special awards earned included four Snorkeling BSA and three Kayaking BSA. Seven Scouts earned the Catholic Religious patch, while one earned the Protestant Religious patch for attending daily services. The troop was also presented the Bishop Tobin award for their efforts.
