James F. O’Leary - Cumberland

James F. O’Leary, 79, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. He was the husband of the late Mary Beatrice (Lutender) O’Leary.

Born in Worcester, Mass., he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Katherine (Foley) O’Leary. He was one of four brothers, the late Jeremiah and Robert O’Leary and is survived by Paul O’Leary.

Mr. O’Leary was a Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Puerto Rico, where he served aboard the USCG Ice Cutter, Evergreen as the ships radio operator.

He was the National Distribution Manager for ITT Royal Electric, retiring in 1990. He also was co-owner of the Package Place in Worcester from 1992-2002. He was a member of St. Aidan’s Parish, Cumberland, R.I., the Blackstone Valley Amateur Radio Club and he graduated from Bryant College.

He is survived by his son, Christopher J. O’Leary and his wife Stella; and his beloved grandchildren, Adrianna and Christina O’Leary. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10 a.m. in Saint Aidan Church, Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, R.I. Burial with military honors will be in Saint John Cemetery, Worcester, Mass. www.rifuneral.com
