Slatersville Congregational Church celebrates 175th anniversary

NORTH SMITHFIELD - The Slatersville Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, announces the following activities as part of its 175th anniversary celebration.

Friday, Nov. 15: Family Fun Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Families invited to bring their favorite pizza. Drinks, snacks and dessert will be provided. The event will feature children's games and crafts and fun activities for parents to get to know each other. Sign up in Globe Hall or call the church office at 401-769-2773.

Saturday, Nov. 16: Ham and bean supper, from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $10 for adults and $3 for children 12 years old and under. The menu includes ham and beans, coleslaw, brown bread and homemade apple pie.

The trailer "Slatersville: America's First Mill Village" will be shown along with a brief historical interpretation by Bob Gabrielson in the sanctuary. There will be a hymn sing in the sanctuary at 7 p.m.

Sunday, November 17: Worship at 10 a.m. celebrating 175 years of worship in the historic sanctuary. Special guests, special music, re-dedication of the sanctuary, and a coffee hour.
