The Gnomes take the stage at BRT

CUMBERLAND - Blackstone River Theatre, 549 Broad St., will present an evening of world music featuring The Gnomes on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m.

The concert features the world-folk-fusion of The Gnomes whose high-energy music is sure to get folks on their feet or dancing in their seat.

The band features Phil Edmonds, Cathy Clasper-Torch, Peter Breen, Mike Fischman and Ron Schmitt who combine their varied and extensive musical backgrounds into arrangements that have been described as "exotic, fresh, and unique." Instrumentation includes fiddle, Irish whistles, erhu, accordion, guitar, mandolin, bass, percussion, keyboard, and vocals. Their spirited music takes you around the world, encompassing Celtic, klezmer, Scandinavian, Carribean, Asian and Latin styles.

Tonight's concert will also celebrate the release of Phil Edmonds' new book, "On the Grey Dog in the Sea of Humanity" about his 5,500 mile Greyhound bus adventure through the American south.
