'Hiring Our Heroes' job fair set for Friday

WARWICK - Hiring Our Heroes, a military and veterans job fair sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at the Warwick National Guard Armory, 541 Airport Road, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event will be preceded by an employment workshop at 9 a.m. The workshop is for veterans and other military job seekers, and will focus on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating job fairs, military skill transition, and interviewing. To register for the workshop, go to http://warwick-nov15-hohworks-eorg.eventbrite.com/

"This is an ideal opportunity for veterans or spouses of veterans to meet prospective employers and discuss employment possibilities," said Brian LaFauci, R.I./ ESGR Program manager. "Many successful matches of veterans' skills and employers' needs have been made during our past job fairs, which is really encouraging."

Job seekers must register for free at: HOH.Greatjobs.net to guarantee admission. Walk-ins are welcome, but space is not guaranteed.

The event is co-sponsored locally by the Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce Coalition, the Rhode Island Committee of Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve, Hero2Hired, the Rhode Island National Guard, the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, NBC News, and other local partners.
