Brush elected to Greenville Public Library Board of Trustees; Swain honored for service

SMITHFIELD - David Brush, owner of Apple Valley Insurance in Greenville, was elected to the Greenville Public Library Board of Trustees at its September meeting. Dorothy Swain, assistant director of the Greenville Library, was honored for 25 years of service to the library.

Swain began working at the library in September of 1988 as a reference librarian. She later became the head of reference and eventually assistant director. Swain has been responsible for organizing many of the library's major fundraising events, running two book discussion groups, supervising professional interns, training and supervising staff, taking books to the home-bound, and acting as a liaison to community organizations such as the North Central Chamber of Commerce. ¬?
