International Cafe food service license renewed

LINCOLN - Elia Nassios, owner of International Cafe at 1526 Old Lousiquisset Pike, has paid the $240 required to renew his food service license with the Rhode Island Department of Health, a health department spokeswoman said this week.

The license is now renewed through April 30, 2014.

The Breeze reported last week that the license had been expired since April 30 of this year, and subsequent checks by the health department since February indicated to officials that the restaurant had gone out of business because it did not appear to be in operation.

Per routine protocol, a spokeswoman said, the business would have received two notices - one that the license was about to expire and one that it had.
