Davies teacher charged with assault on student

LINCOLN – A teacher at Davies Vocational Technical School has been charged with simple assault involving two 15-year-old students and "unwelcomed groping and kissing," Lincoln Police Capt. Philip Gould reported this week.

David J. Sousa, 41, of Pawtucket, is scheduled for pre-trial on Dec. 6, for incidents that allegedly occurred during the 2012-2013 school year.

An investigation was initiated from a complaint by the parents of a 15-year-old female student at the school on Jenckes Hill Road, police said, and as a result, a second 15-year-old student then came forward.

The two complaints were brought to the attention of the Lincoln Police Department at the end of August, the report states. LPD worked with the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office and Davies administration during the investigation.
