Libraries host Holiday Nutcracker Program

GLOCESTER - The Glocester Libraries will host a special holiday program at the Glocester Senior Center, 1210 Putnam Pike, on Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m.

Storyteller Carolyn Martino will bring to life E.T.A. Hoffman's full version of "The Nutcracker." This long version of the story is intended for adults as well as school age children.

A Wacky Sweater Contest will follow the event with winners in both child and adult categories for the "wackiest" look. The libraries will also hold Wacky Sweater Workshops at the Glocester Manton Library on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. and at the Harmony Library on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. Workshop participants only have to bring the sweater or sweatshirt, and the libraries will provide the extras. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

To register or for further information, call the Glocester-Manton Public Library at 401-568-6077 or the Harmony Library at 401-949-2850.
