Major Gen. McBride to speak at Chamber of Commerce's Eggs and Issues breakfast

LINCOLN - Major Gen. Kevin R. McBride, adjutant general of Rhode Island and commanding general of the Rhode Island National Guard, will be the guest speaker at the next Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce's Eggs and Issues Breakfast on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 8 a.m., at the Kirkbrae Country Club, 197 Old River Road, Lincoln.

McBride will discuss how the involvement and services of the Guard have evolved through the years, and how adequate troop readiness and family support for those left behind is more important than ever. Additionally, guests will hear about the Guard's efforts in Rhode Island and elsewhere and why employers should consider partnering with the R.I. National Guard and the office of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

The event is sponsored by Pawtucket Credit Union and Pare Corporation.

The cost to attend the breakfast is $20 for members pre-registered; $30 for member walk-ins; $40 for non-members.
