FRCA training program graduates 22

WOONSOCKET - More than 70 people joined 22 Family Resources Community Action Employment and Training graduates to celebrate their achievement in an awards ceremony held at FRCA's Employment and Training Center on Nov. 15.

Eleven individuals successfully completed the Healthcare Reimbursement Specialist training, a 10-week program that prepares graduates for careers as healthcare reimbursement specialists, health information technicians and medical receptionists. Graduates receive certifications in coding and billing, electronic health records and customer service. Graduates of the HRS training were Koren Ball, Michelle Blanding, Linda Caldwell, Natalya Carreras, Semiramis Dominy, Karen Dorsey, Brandon Fernandes, Natasha Hill, Desiree Houle Guibeau, Alysia Polion, and Ashley Wilson.

Eight individuals successfully completed the administrative office management program, a 10-week training that prepares graduates for careers as administrative assistants, receptionists, and customer service representatives. AOS graduates were Jennifer Arsenault, Shantel Barr, Crystal Beausoleil, Kaitlin Gagnon, Mehgan Johnson, Amanda McMullen, Phiset Phay, and Amy Rodriguez. In addition, On-the-Job Training program participants Angela Downs, Kayla Hilyard, and Heather Lane were recognized for their success with the new placement and retention employment program. Angela Downs was hired to provide janitorial services for FRCA, Heather Lane was hired at Shaw's Meat Market, and Kayla Hilyard is in an internship placement at the Woonsocket Public Library.

Participants in all programs receive job-readiness training for assistance with writing resumes, interviewing and other preparation to improve their chances of employment success as well as job placement assistance. Individuals are linked to other supports such as FRCA's financial opportunity center to help strengthen their financial condition.
