Mancini Center announces programs

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center announces the following programs.

The center would like to begin a Mahjong group for beginners. Those of you who are interested in learning how to play are asked to call Linda Giorgio at 401-231-0742, ext. 107. The class will be meeting on Wednesdays beginning in February.

An evening Hi-Lo-Jack League will begin meeting on Thursdays at 6 p.m. in February. Those interested in joining are asked to call the center at 401-231-0742 and leave a message for Joe Rotella with the receptionist.

Diabetic shoes consultations will be offered on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Jackie Silva from Lifeline Wellness, will be at the center for a morning session on shoes for diabetics.¬?

A January Birthday Celebration will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by Touch of Class. Fashions by Francine will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Senior Computer Literacy Class registration will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m. All classes are paid in full at registration. For questions, contact Linda Giorgio.

Evening Computer Class registration will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 5 p.m. The Microsoft Word class and the Excel class begin Jan. 22. The cost for classes is $45 each for eight weeks of classes.

A RIPTA Bus Pass Program representative will be at the center on Friday, Jan. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Effective Jan.1, the fee for bus cards through RIPTA's Bus Pass Program for Seniors and People with Disabilities will be $25. For information on how to qualify for this program, call 401-784-9500, ext. 604. RIPTA will also be at the center on March 1 to process bus passes.
