Learn how to use electronic devices at the Mancini Center

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center announces the following activities.

A presentation on caregiver stress will be offered on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m. Susan Haley of Home Instead Senior Care will discuss how to cope with the emotional and physical strain of caregiving.

A personalized computer and cell phone lab will be offered on Fridays, from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., beginning Jan. 17. North Providence High School students will offer one-on-one instruction to our members on various technological devices including iPads, tablets, cell phones and Kindles. Those interested can sign up at the Reception Desk for a free session.

Snowflake Bingo will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The program, Cold or Flu?, will be presented on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m. Learn the difference and how to treat each one. A pharmacist will discuss how to navigate the cold and flu aisle and choose the best medicine for treatment.

The program, Focus on Fiber, will be offered on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 10:30 a.m. Learn why fiber is so important for health and how much dietary fiber we need, the foods that provide it and how easy it is to add them to our meals and snacks.

A RIPTA Bus Pass Program representative will be at the center on Friday, Jan. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. For information on how to qualify for this program, call 401-784-9500, ext. 604. RIPTA will also be at the center on March 1 to process bus passes.
