Oceanbones to perform at the Mancini Center

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the following events.

The presentation, Focus on Fiber, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 10:30 a.m. Learn how much dietary fiber we need, the foods that provide it and how easy it is to add them to meals and snacks.

A Wheel of Fortune game will be offered on Monday, Jan. 27, at 10:30 a.m.

The Diabetes Support Group will present the program Food & Nutrition on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. Susan Fagan, nutritionist at Cherry Hill Manor, will be the guest speaker.

A Musical Hour featuring the Oceanbones will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 11 a.m. to noon. Those planning to stay for lunch can contact Terri at 401-231-0742, ext. 10.

A presentation on advance treatments in wound care will be offered on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 10:30 a.m.

Learn about cognitive decline on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 10:30 a.m. Find out how changes in memory, language, thinking and judgement interfere with daily life and usual activities and may indicate whether this is the normal aging process or a more serious decline.

The RIPTA Bus Pass Program will be at the center on Friday, Jan. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fee for bus cards through RIPTA's Bus Pass Program for Seniors and People with Disabilities is $25.¬?For information on how to qualify for the program, call 401-784-9500, ext. 604.¬?RIPTA will be at our center on March 1 to process bus passes.

A Personalized Computer & Cell Phone Lab will be offered on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to noon, beginning Feb. 28. North Providence High School students will offer one-on-one instruction to members on various technological devices. Sign up at the reception desk for a free session.
