Man accused of assaulting 14-year-old boy in public bathroom

PAWTUCKET - Officers from the Pawtucket Police Department have arrested Richard Fortier, 38, on charges that he assaulted a 14-year-old male in the bathroom of the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center, located at 175 Main St. across from the Slater Mill.

The alleged assault happened on Jan. 17, according to an announcement from the police department. Fortier, of 156 Broadway, was positively identified before being arrested by Officers Alias Imondi and Zachary Day. The arrest was based on probable cause developed by Det. Jeffrey Cook.

Fortier was charged with second-degree child molestation and disorderly conduct - indecent exposure.
