Body found in submerged car ID’d as missing Pawtucket resident

CENTRAL FALLS – State medical examiners have identified a body discovered in the Blackstone River on Tuesday, Feb. 4, as Angela Rivera, a 62-year-old Pawtucket resident who had gone missing in March of 2011.

Construction crews spotted a 1991 Toyota Camry in the river off Madeira Avenue and immediately called police. Public safety personnel were called to the scene and found the body after having the car pulled from the water.

Police do not suspect foul play had anything to do with Rivera’s death. She had made suicidal comments before she and her car went missing.
