Erika Bishop Guilmain - Scituate

Erika Bishop Guilmain, 64, of Silk Lane in North Scituate, died tragically when her home caught fire Wednesday, February 12, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late David Leonard Guilmain.

Born in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Wade Bishop MD and Margaret Martin Bishop.

Erika was a long time Scituate resident and co-owner of the original Village Antiques. She worked as an X-ray Technologist at Rhode Island Hospital for 40 years, where she was respected and loved by all her co-workers and students in Radiology.

The most important job to Erika however, was the up-bringing of her two children. She was the most selfless and loving mother that any child could ever ask for.

She is survived by her son, David Wade Guilmain; daughter, Melissa Lee Guilmain; and sister, Karla Leslie Martel. She is also survived by her nieces, Laurie Sexton and Bethany Martel, along with their brother, Roy Martel, all from Massachusetts.

In lieu of funeral services, there will be a candle light vigil at 54 Silk Lane, North Scituate, R.I. at 6:30 P.M. on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
