Woonsocket mother on house arrest after allegedly taking son

WOONSOCKET — The woman who was accused in January of illegally taking her 6-year-old son to Washington state has been granted home confinement while awaiting trial.

Andria Britt, 34, of Woonsocket reportedly sparked an Amber Alert after leaving the state with her son Daniel. Britt shares custody of Daniel with his father, Sean Britt, and is accused of violating a court order by taking him to Washington.

Britt was granted home confinement in Providence Superior Court, but remains in jail on $50,000 bail until details are worked out. Sean now has sole custody of Daniel.

Britt has pleaded not guilty to felony child snatching.
