WOONSOCKET - Connecting for Children and Families is currently recruiting for a workforce training program in culinary arts.

The program is funded through an Innovative Partnership grant from the Governor's Workforce Board and creates a formal collaboration called the Culinary Arts Collaborative of Northern Rhode Island.

The training consists of 12 weeks of classroom instruction, Monday-Friday, with anticipated start dates in March. Participants will acquire work-readiness preparation; occupational skills in culinary arts; four industry recognized credentials; on-the-job experience through internships; and a strong connection to a career pathway with individualized job development and placement.

All participants must be at least 18 years old with valid identification; Rhode Island residents who are unemployed or underemployed and looking to improve skills and find a job in food services; and have legal documents indicating ability to work in the U.S.

Class size is limited. Interested individuals should contact Heidi Collins at 401-766-3384 or to find out when an information session is being held.
