Cat show this weekend

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Northeast Feline Fanciers, in conjunction with Cat Fanciers' Federation, presents its 54th annual Cat Show on Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 304 Highland Ave., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., each day.

Cats will be judged in the categories of championship, kitten, altered and household. See Siamese, Maine Coon, Scottish Fold, Abyssinian, Old Style Siamese, Persians, Oriental Shorthairs, Himalayans, Ragdolls and Bengals, among others.

On Sunday at approximately 3 p.m., there will be a crowning of the king and queen, prince and princess of household pets. These will be the highest scoring males and females over the two-day period. They will be dressed in royal robes and sparkling crowns.

Local rescue Angelcat Haven will be on hand selling catnip items and crafts for cat lovers, with all proceeds will benefit rescued cats.

Admission to the show is $3 for adults, and $2 for ages 6-12 and seniors. Northeast Feline Fanciers is a nonprofit club based in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
