April 12 pancake breakfast benefits sign for Franklin Farm

CUMBERLAND - A "Sign of Spring" Breakfast will be held Saturday morning, April 12, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lafayette Lodge at 680 Nate Whipple Highway, Arnold Mills. The breakfast, hosted by Eagle Scout candidate Steven T. Ward, will be to benefit in the purchase and installation of a road sign for "The Historic Metcalf and Franklin Farm and Community Garden" on Abbott Run Valley Road.

Breakfast will include pancakes and sausage, with maple syrup and blueberry compote, coffee, milk and juice. Gluten-free pancakes will be available. Tickets will be $7 at the door, and $4 for children age 10 and under.

The sign is expected to be installed in June by the Boy Scouts of Troop 1 Arnold Mills. Those who cannot attend the breakfast, but would like to make a donation, are urged to mail checks payable to "The Valley Breeze," 6 Blackstone Valley Place, Suite 204, Lincoln, RI 02865. Please note "Franklin Farm" on the memo line.
