He made an appearance in District Court later in the day and was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Bail was set at $5,000 with surety.

On March 28, at about 4:45 a.m., the Pawtucket Police Department was notified by workers at MedTech Ambulance company that one of their vehicles had been stolen. MedTech employees had been monitoring the location of the stolen ambulance using an installed GPS system. The employees later found the ambulance abandoned on Carter Avenue near Orient Avenue.
