Smithfield residents invited to May 3 Tree Day

SMITHFIELD - The Smithfield Conservation Commission holds its annual Tree Day on Saturday, May 3, at the pavilion in Deerfield Park. The event starts at 10 a.m. and runs until either all the plants are sold, or until 1 p.m. No early bird shoppers will be welcome.

The commission, which allocates money from its budget each year for town beautification, is offering hydrangeas and boxwoods this year. The plants are for Smithfield residents only.

The price is $5 per set, with a limit of one set per family; no mixing or substitutions.

The commission is also offering high bush cranberry and Austin pine seedlings, free while supplies last.
