Grebien holding community meetings at local schools

PAWTUCKET - Mayor Donald Grebien held the opening meeting of his next round of "Mayor's Community Meetings" on Tuesday at the Curtis Elementary School.

Meetings are also scheduled for: Tuesday, May 6, at Goff Junior High School, 974 Newport Ave.; Thursday, May 8, at Fallon Memorial School, 62 Lincoln Ave.; Tuesday, May 13, at Varieur Elementary School, 486 Pleasant St.; Tuesday, May 20, at Baldwin Elementary School, 50 Whitman St.; and Thursday, May 22, at Nathanael Greene Elementary School, 285 Smithfield Ave.

The meetings, which Grebien has been conducting since taking office in 2011, are offered as an opportunity for residents, business people or any member of the public to express concerns, problems or ideas regarding the city directly to the mayor and appropriate department heads. A slideshow presentation will precede a question and answer session.

A second round of community meetings will be held in October.

All meetings are held at 6 p.m. and light refreshments are provided.
