Historical Society to present program on King Philip's War

LINCOLN - Relive the King Philip's War at the Blackstone Valley Historical Society's annual meeting on Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m., in the North Gate Toll House, 1873 Old Louisquisset Pike.

Kevin McBride, director of research at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center, and professor of anthropology at the University of Connecticut, an expert on this part of history, has spent the better part of the past several years trying to determine the actual locations of these very important battles of 1675 and 1676. Based on work conducted by him and others in 2010 and 2011, the physical layout of the land was determined, and as a result, artifacts from these events have been unearthed.

McBride will present his research as the second Chris Nowak Memorial Lecture for the Historical Society.
