New Zumba class offered at the Mancini Center

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the following activities.

A new Zumba class will be offered on Mondays, beginning June 16, at 10:45 p.m.

The center's arthritis exercise class begins a new season on Tuesday, June 10, at 10 a.m. There is a one-time fee of $3 for the six-week class. Registration is required at the Reception Desk.

Dan Ormond, retired police officer and law enforcement advocate for the Cranston and Johnston Police Departments, will host a program on elder safety on Tuesday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m.

Mini Mental Memory screenings will be offered on Wednesday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. This is a short screening test to help evaluate memory and the ability to solve simple problems. Make an appointment at the Reception Desk.

A June birthday celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 11 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by Robert Black. Sweatshirts by Francine will be available from 11 to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

URI Pharmacy Outreach will present the program, Summertime Health, on Thursday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m.

Registration for the Creative Canvas Workshop is now being accepted at the Reception Desk. The two-hour class will be offered on Thursday, June 26, at 1 p.m. Participants will complete a painting during the program. The cost is $30 which includes a pre-drawn canvas and all supplies. Payment is due by Tuesday, June 10.
