Albert H. Benoit - Lincoln

Albert H. Benoit, 87, of Grove Street died Monday, July 7, 2014, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Hudson) Benoit.

Born in South Attleboro, Massachusetts, a son of the late Albert O. and Ida (Brouillette) Benoit, he had lived in Cumberland before moving to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for 14 1/2 years. He has lived in Lincoln for the past seven years.

Mr. Benoit was a computer operator for Max Silverstein & Sons, Providence, for 28 years and later for CFS Air Cargo, Warwick, for eight years before retiring in 1992.

He was a World War II Navy veteran and a former member of the VFW. He was a member of Christ Church, Lincoln, where he served as Senior Warden, Junior Warden, and Treasurer and as a member of its Vestry.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Gayle Taylor and Leslie Willis, both of Lincoln, and Carolyn Cherone of Chesapeake, Va.; one son, George Taylor of Lincoln; seven sisters, Therese Jodoin of North Providence, Jeannette Landry of Cumberland, Loretta Bergeron of Florida, Lucille Karanuick of Cumberland, Vivian Powell of Ohio, Eva Ouellette of Connecticut and Yvonne Brown of Ohio; two brothers, Paul Benoit of New Jersey and Normand Benoit of Cumberland; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Irene Dupre, Roland Benoit and Rita McGill.

His Requiem Eucharist will be held FRIDAY, JULY 11 at 11 A.M. in Christ Church, 1643 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln. Burial will be private. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.
